PostSubject: Wiring up LEDs   Mon Jul 06, 2009 7:19 pm

During the weekend a few people asked me about using and wiring up LEDs.

For someone not conversant with LEDs this can be a problem but which is easily solved.

A small understanding of electronics is required in the relationship of Voltage, Current and Resistance.
However with the internet there is no need to learn 'Ohms Law'. It's all there for you.

Here is quite a good site that explains nearly all.

How to wire an LED

With LEDs in parallel (most common use) the voltage drop will be the same (or near to) as for one LED but the current will add up.
With LEDs in series the voltages will add up.

That is very useful indeed Laurent with some helpful circuits.

I shall copy that and keep it.
