PostSubject: LGB MTS3 / Booster Problem - Is anyone near the Charente with MTS ?   Wed Jan 21, 2009 11:12 am

I have an MTS3 55006p Central Station which has apart from some recent humidity problems been running fine.

I picked up a 55090 Booster on Ebay and have been trying to get it to work with the Central Station.

The problem seems that it isn't receiving commands from the central station as indicated by the flashing green status LED on the booster. It should be steady green - and there is no power to the track

So far I have checked the following...
Brought everything into the warm and dry to eliminate a potential condensation problem
Checked continuity on the booster data transfer cable and the integrity of the jacks
Run through the three operating modes on the booster and the orange status LED lights as expected
Tried sending both serial and parallel commands
Various power supply options to both units DC / AC 18 volts and a common 18v AC 5amp
The central station supplied rail is always fine
The booster rail has no power except in "braking mode" when it can cycle through the braking speed options and send a test loco off in one direction at varying speed.

It's been suggested that I try the Booster with another central station, do any forum members near me run MTS ??

And if so could I come over and try it??

Cheers Brian

Brian

You probably already thought of this, but there is an on-line map of where the various members of Voie Metrique Libre are situated:

Are there any bodies on there that might be close enough to you?

Hi Brian, you are nowhere near me (400k away) but I have MTS 2.

I suppose that is better than no comments at all.

Hi, I will be near you in April but use Massoth, perhaps someone could bring the item you need to the open day in July.

Unfortunately spoken to Jeremy and he doesn't want to know. Referring me back to LGB.

Fair enough I didn't buy this unit from him, just the thousands pounds worth of other stuff over the last few months

C'est la vie
