Brian, have a look at my thread...

Another important question:

What colour did you paint your track...yes I know it's brown but what paint did you use?

It's Marabu Do-it Colorspray brun fonce (dark brown) silk-matt 150ml spray

I bought it from our local Cultura store in Angouleme

They're a national chain, I couldn't see this particular product on their website CULTURA
which is a shame as it was on sale at our local.

I'll respond to your other idea on the "Normand" thread.

Today's efforts have been focused on building one of the key foreground objects - the grape press...

and now that the track is down starting to fill in the ground decor...

It's just a couple of Stainz cabs glued together on a Playmo chassis...

It's great! I like it very much!

Wow! That grape press looks good. The turntable an street are suburb!
What did you use for the street pavement?

The paving is 10mm foam board with the patterns pressed in with a blunt pencil.
If you get "Continental Modeller" magazine there's been a whole series of articles by Emmanuel Nouaillier on using foam board. The February 2010 issue is on road surfaces. His articles are for HO, but it's even easier when you scale up to G.

Slow progress this week with the tedious but ultimately satisfying business of hand impressing the paving and brickwork and then sponging in the paintwork. This is now largely done apart from a ramp and steps etc...

I've also done a bit more on the grape press and loading platform...

Extended the right hand loading dock track so it can connect with "Normand",

I'm waiting on various items...
30 wine barrels from 'Monsieur Maquettes'
Pantile roofing sheets from 'back2bay6'
Preiser figures from 'Dragon G Scale'

Next priorities are...
Wiring the underside
Building the hinged return rail section
Ballasting and completing the decor around the front rail

That is very effective Brian and the details will make it.

I am going to try polystyrene too (10mm ceiling tiles) to fill in my try track.

What are you going to do with the 'track into the sky'. Did you find a suitable picture?

My only concern with using a sky backscene (which I am not because of the building) is connecting it to other people's sky...but then I suppose that's the same with the rest of the scenery.

If anyone thinks I haven't replied to Carl's post above! I have! It's just that it's been moved to the NORMAND thread!

Finished the ballasting and the basic scenery now reaches the front of the module...

Loads more detailing to do but not this week as I'm off to England on Wednesday

Snow at Limoges airport permitting

I posted this pic on the "barrels" thread as well. But here are the latest additions to the module...
