.......Hang-on we haven't finished the cold turkey and he's already talking about RailExpo.

And why not! Laughing

For 2012 a change of venue. It will be on November 23/24/25 at the Halle St Martin 95300 Pontoise.
This is twice the size (6,000m2) as Villebon.

This is much better placed to the north-west of Paris with excellent direct public transport access from most of the main stations in Paris.

Hotels are located 200-800 metres away with ample parking.

There with be at least 3 live steam steam layouts and suppliers for G scale garden railways.

More details as the new year unfolds....

I already have people interested in helping but everyone will be welcome of course.

Count me in!
I'm very happy with the location, it saves me an hour traveling time for sure now I can avoid the Périphérique.

This is in my diary! It was a real disappointment that I had to miss it this year, where a splendid time was obviously had by all!

...and you were missed Phil, you would have enjoyed it.

You can come in your work dress if you want. Laughing

David, I promise I will have some 32mm track. I will probably have to actually for certain commercial reasons but more about that later.

That would be excellent Carl, but equally most of my locomotives are adjustable to 45mm, Covadonga being an exception.

I have confirmation from the organisers at TDS that I shall indeed be participating at RailExpo this year.

As for the actual format of the layout I'm not too sure yet. I have still to make some modifications. The worst will be the same as last year.

People will be welcome as before.
Operators will be 3 plus myself (but bring some stock, even if just one loco.) That means up to 3 people will have tickets and food for all 3 days.

Anyone else who comes and brings stock to run will get fed and free admission for the day.

I can't help with subsidised accommodation I'm afraid but there are plenty of cheap hotels nearby, parking is easy and public transport too.

Could be a very good event.

I have just made a reservation at the Hotel Campanile, Cergy/Pontoise for Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

I plan to bring at minimum of 1 steam and 1 diesel locomotive, 32/45 mm convertible.

I hope my response was not indecently hasty but last year was very very good.

You already contacted me David so it's not hasty.

This year will be certainly much bigger and I imagine infinitely better.

As you know, you can count me in Carl! Not sure for the full three days though; I'll come back on that!
I'm planning to bring at least the Egger "steam" railbus and the VW microbus.
Looking forward to seeing you all again!

So does that mean you won't be coming or won't be becoming Bill?

Actually I think pink should be 'de riguer' for RailExpo.

Let me know your sizes please........

Counted.

Geoff, had you any more thoughts about a simple bell system as discussed last time?

Yes - will start thinking a bit more deeply now and let you know what I come up with. Hopefully we should be able to simulate two signal boxes communicating with each other.

That'll be excellent Geoff.
Even if there are no trains running it will keep people amused and or baffled. Let me know if you need me to do or try and obtain anything.
